Apple A11 Chipset Mass Production Starting in April

Apple is expected to begin the production of Apple A11 chipsets in the coming month.

According to Digitimes, The Economic Daily News has reported that the Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) based in Taiwan will begin the mass production in April. It is aimed towards shipping 50 million units of Apple A11 chipset by July.

The upcoming iPhones are pegged to launch in September 2017 and they are speculated to be fueled by Apple A11 chipset. It is a 10nm chipset that will be coming with a wafer-level integrated (InFo) packaging technology. According to Playful Droid, the next-generation iPhones will go into production from July.

TSMC is aiming to manufacture 100 million A11 chipsets. Since Apple is placing such a massive order of its A11 10nm chipsets, it can be expected that the upcoming iPhone 8 would be arriving with stellar features.

The Apple A11 SoC is expected to be offer better performance than the A10 Fusion chipset that drives the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus smartphones. The SoC is expected to carry native support for AR.

The year 2017 is the tenth anniversary of Apple iPhones. Hence, the Cupertino company is speculated to launch the next-generation with topnotch features.  Some rumors hint that Apple may launch 2017 iPhones in three screen sizes such as 5.8-inch, 5-inch and 4.7-inch.

Apple is heavily pegged to bring OLED display panels on the 2017 iPhones. The company is expected to feature a bezel-less display on iPhone 8. Also, wireless charging and USB Type-C are some of the most desired features on the next-generation iPhone. Facial recognition is also one of the features that is pegged to come on iPhone 8.  The full metal design is rumored to get replaced by glass and steel combination chassis.

As of this writing, there are no concrete leaks on iPhone 8. However, the company is slated to launch its next iPhones in September 2017.
