Combat Power can be the difference between emerging victorious or losing in battle. Given that every Pokemon has different CP level, players should be mindful that the higher the CP, the more dominant a creature becomes in battle.

'Pokemon Go' Tips & Tricks: Evolving & Powering Up Pokemon

Stardust and Candy are in-game resources that are needed when Evolving and Powering Up Pokemon in "Pokemon Go." Candy is an item specific to a species of Pokemon, such as Pidgey Candy, Pikachu Candy, and more. Meanwhile, Stardust, which refers to a shared resource players collect for each Pokemon they catch, is used for leveling up and keeping a Pokemon in the Gyms.

Trainers must try and capture as many Pokemon of one type as possible and earn Candy for each instance. These species-specific Candy are expected to be used to power up and evolve the species in its family. For instance, catching low-level Pidgeys can gradually trigger for Pidgeot evolution.

'Pokemon Go' Tips & Tricks: How To Evolve A Pokemon Using Special Items

Aside from using Candy to evolve Pokemon, several evolutions for the existing and new Pokemon need a special item to evolve into particular forms.

King's Rock for Politoed, Slowking

Metal Coat for Scizor, Steelix

Up-Grade for Porygon2

Dragon Scale for Kingdra

Sun Stone for Bellossom, Sunflora

Players can get all this from spinning PokeStops. Though their drop rates are quite low as well, Adeel_007, a Redditor claims that the special items would more likely to drop from the seven-day Daily Bonus streak. With this, the second seven-day Daily Bonus will not get players' one which means that the frequency of these is quite erratic. However, it may still worth a try to boost your chances.
