Pokemon Go Upgrade: Metal Coat, Sun Stone, King's Rock and Dragon Scale can be Used to Evolve Gen 1 Pokemon to Gen 2

Metal Coat, Sun Stone, King's Rock and Dragon Scale are new evolutionary items that can be used to evolve Generation 1 Pokemon to Generation 2 evolutions.

Niantic Labs rolled out the Gen 2 update for Pokemon Go on February 16. The new update launches about 80 new pocket monsters along with berries and new evolutionary items. According to reports, some Generation 1 non-evolving creatures can now evolve.

Gen 2 brings bonus candies as well as two new berries for capturing evolved Pokemon. The Pinap Berry and the Nanab Berry are the two berries. There are five new evolutionary items in the latest update -  Upgrade, Metal Coat, Sun Stone, King's Rock and Dragon Scale, IGN reported.

The evolutionary items can be used for Generation 1 Pokemon to evolve. Dragon Scale and 100 Horsea Pokemon Candy are needed for Seadra to evolve into Kingdra. Fifty Slowpoke Candy and King's Rock are needed for the Pokemon Slowpoke to evolve into Slowking.

Hundred Politwag Candy and King's Rock are needed for the Pokemon Poliwhirl to evolve into Politoed. Sun Stone and 100 Oddish Candy help the Pokemon Gloom to evolve into Bellossom. Also, a new creature called Sunkern use Sunstone to transform into the Pokemon Sunflora.

Metal Coat and 50 Onix Candy help the Pokemon Onix to evolve into Steelix. Metal Coat and 50 Scyther Candy help the Pokemon Scyther to evolve into Scizor. Up to 50 Porygon Candy are needed for the Pokemon Porygon to evolve into Porygon2.

Furthermore, the Pokemon Golbat can now evolve to Crobat, and the Pokemon Chansey can now evolve into Blissey. Reports suggest that some creatures that have existing evolutions can gain additional or split evolutions.

Meanwhile, John Hanke, Niantic CEO, has said that there are three more updates for the game are set to be rolled out later this year, according to a Fortune.
