Samsung has built its brand over the last couple of years through advanced features and sleek designs. However, Apple will not give up its top position without putting up a fight with its latest release of the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus.

The iPhone 7 and Galaxy S7 cameras are undisputedly above average. Apple flagship device boasts of one of the fastest phone cameras with a 12 megapixels camera with f/1.7 aperture, dual-pixel phase detection autofocus, and dual-LED two-tone flash while the Galaxy S7 camera also comes with a 12 megapixels snapper with f/1.8 aperture, a new six-element lens, and quad-LED with flicker sensor flash.

A popular Apple blog organized a camera comparison in a blind review. Photos were taken using not only the iPhone 7 and the Galaxy S7 but also other smartphones such as the LG V20 and Microsoft Lumia 950. The images were posted online without labeling which devices were used to take them. About 13,000 voters chose which they think had the best image quality and the Samsung Galaxy S7 camera emerged as the winner.

The Galaxy S7 won over the iPhone 7 with a 38 percent to a 22 percent overall score. The Galaxy S7 won in the indoor shot category because the Galaxy S7 had better saturation. The iPhone 7 came out with muted colors in an artificially lit photo while the Galaxy S7 had an oversaturated look. In an outdoor shot, the Galaxy S7's tendency for highly saturated stills brought truer and brilliant colors than the iPhone 7, whose pictures were quite indistinguishable. However, the iPhone came out victorious with the portrait mode in well-lit surroundings and produced the best natural image.
