HP has unveiled the all new Chromebook 13 with a price tag of $499.

HP Chromebook 13 is now official. HP has collaborated with Google in designing the Chromebook 13. The notebook that sports a thickness of 12.9 mm is endowed with a brushed aluminum chassis, GSM Arena reported. It is slimmer and lighter than Apple MacBook Air that measures 17 mm in thickness and weighs 2.96 pounds.

The notebook that weighs 2.86 pounds features a 13.3-inch screen that offers a resolution of 3200 x 1800 pixels. It is powered by the sixth generation lntel Core M processor (Skylake chipset) and 16 GB of RAM. It features a 32 GB SSD drive. It is also equipped with two USB-C slots that can be used for charging the device as well as for performing data transfer.

The starting model that is powered by Core M3 offers a processing speed of 900 MHz whereas the variant that features Core M7 delivers a clocking speed of 1.2 GHz and 3.1 GHz through TurboBoost. HP has said that it is the first ever Chromebook to be powered by Intel's sixth generation Core 7 processor.

The Chromebook 13 is aimed towards business customers as it comes with support for HP Elite USB-C Docking station. It allows users to connect the device to a larger display, full-sized keyboard and add more devices through its ports, Android Central reported.  

It runs on Chrome OS that is built on Google Chrome internet browser. It offers a simplified computing platform that is equipped with basis file management tools and cloud-based apps such as Gmail, Google Docs, YouTube and so on.

The HP Chromebook 13 is equipped with a battery that hours a battery life of 11.5 hours. It is also equipped with single USB 3.0 port, backlit keyboard, an HP TrueVision web cam, Bang & Olufsen Play speakers, an audio jack and a microSD card reader.  

When it comes to appearance, it seems to be inspired from Google's Chromebook Pixel that is available with a pricing of $999. However, the HP Chromebook 13 has been introduced with a price tag of $499 in the U.S. The preorders of the device have started in the U.S. and its shipping will begin at some point in next month.
