The specifications of the upgraded edition of Google Nexus 6P has surfaced on GeekBench.

The Nexus 6P is one of highly-acclaimed smartphones of the previous year. Upgraded Nexus 6P specs leaked via GeekBench, which led to speculations that Google is working with HTC on a new Nexus flagship smartphone for this year.

The spotted smartphone is powered by Snapdragon 820 and 4 GB of RAM. The quad-core processor of the SD 820 SoC clocks at 1.59 GHz. It will arrive preloaded with Android N OS, Phone Radar reported. The smartphone has recorded a single-core score of 2115 and a multi-core score of 4903 on GeekBench.

The Nexus 6P that was released in November is quite popular until now. However, the Snapdragon 810-powered smartphone is encountering strong competition from rival smartphones like Samsung Galaxy S7, Xiaomi Mi 5, HTC 10, LG G5, Sony Xperia X Performance and more that is powered by Snapdragon 820 SoC.

Hence, Google is working on the next generation of Nexus 2016. Rumors have it that the upcoming Nexus 6 2016 smartphone will be based on the recently released HTC 10 smartphone. Hence, the Nexus 6 2016 is expected to sport a metallic chassis flanked with chamfered design of HTC 10.

Early speculations suggest that the Nexus 6 2016 will be arriving with a 5.5-inch display that will support Quad HD resolution. The rumor mill has speculated that HTC will include a pressure-sensitive screen on the Nexus 6P successor. This will allow the smartphone to support a function similar to 3D Touch available on iPhone 6S models.

It will be equipped with a fingerprint scanner on its backside. The front side of the smartphone is expected to sport dual speakers. It is also rumored to carry support for the upcoming Nexus VR headset, International Business Times reported.

The Google Nexus 6P from last year features a 5.7-inch AMOLED screen that supports Quad HD resolution. The Snapdragon 810 and 3 GB of RAM powers the Nexus 6P.  It features a 12.3 MP rear camera and a frontal shooter of 8 MP. It is also equipped with a USB Type-C and a fingerprint scanner. It is packed with a huge battery of 3450 mAh capacity.
