'Mortal Kombat X' update: NetherRealm Studios launch patch 1.13 patch, eSport kick off [VIDEO]; Ed Boon tease Mac version soon!

The latest details for "Mortal Kombat X" will feature the launching of a new patch update, eSport kick off and the possibility of a Mac version soon.

NetherRealm Studios launched that new patch 1.13 for "Mortal Kombat X" and its updated version "Mortal Kombat XL" for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One as it features a number of bug fixes and gameplay specific features.

Some of these fixes include no additional frame of input delay when gamers simulate online delay, thus having a better online matches, Removal of several camera, sound, and particle glitches due to rollback ,as well as several possible online desyncs. If a breaker is initiated while the attacker is below ground it will no longer animate faster than normal and some knockdown reactions now have longer reset the buffered combo damage scaling used by unavoidable off the ground situations.

There are also a bug fix that cause controller configuration options to be reset for a round after a rollback in an online match, the timer in survivor koth now starts at 150 seconds, corrected several brutalities which had some issues with rollback, corrections to movelist frame data, hotfix changes from the previous patch are now being applied correctly, AI tweaks for the Kombat Pack 2 characters and multiple attacks hitting on the same frame should no longer sometimes break though Sonya’s, Subzero’s, Triborg’s (Cyber Sub-Zero) X-Ray parry, PlayStationLifeStyle reported.

In other news, NetherRealm announced a new competitive season for "Mortal Kombat X" eSports kick off on April as players will compete with one another for a prize pool of $500, 000, ESL Mortal Kombat X Pro League Season 3, the ESL Challenger Cup and local tournaments across North America and Europe, VG 24/7 reported.

Gamers will have the opportunity to face each other in "Mortal Kombat X" in the PS4 starting in April 3 during an eight week online season. 16 finalist across North America, Europe, Commonwealth of Independent States, and Latin America then head to Burbank, California for a live tournament taking place on June 12. The prize pool will be at $200,000 will given to the eight finalist.

The ESL "Mortal Kombat X" Challenger Cup will start on April 2 as PS4 ad Xbox One players not competing in the ESL Pro League will be able to participate online for cash and prizes and there will be open tournaments across North America, Europe, CIS and Latin America. These will be held weekly through the end of June, with monthly finals streamed live.

Local Mortal Kombat X tournaments across North America and Europe will continue to be supported by Warner Bros. and Netherrealm Studios with sponsorships and contributions to prize pool funding.

Lastly, "Mortal Kombat" creator Ed Boon teased gaming fans of having "Mortal Kombat X" in the Mac computer as the he tweeted a list of things to do which included a Mac version.

This would mean that NetherRealm will likely add add the Kombat Pack 2 characters in the PC version of "Mortal Kombat X" since they never did included them in favor of the PS4 and Xbox One consoles.

"Mortal Kombat X" is currently available for the PS4, Xbox One and PC platforms.
