'Star Wars Battlefront' DLC update: Two new playable characters added; DICE tease 'Outer Rim' expansion on March!

New details for "Star Wars Battlefront" will feature two new playable characters and an "Outer Rim" DLC update for the game.

Electronic Arts and DICE announced that the DLC update for "Star Wars Battlefront" will feature the "Outer Rim" this coming March. The Outer Rim DLC update will feature new maps for the game such as the the factories within Sullust and Jabba the Hutts' palace in Tatooine.

The Outer Rim DLC will also feature new weapons, playable heroes and a new game mode. EA added that the latest DLC will be release in tandem with free updates similar to the February udpate. So far, EA has not yet given the full details regarding "Star Wars Battlefront's" new game mode, weapons, heroes and an official launch date announcement for the DLC, PlayStationLifeStyle reported.

EA recently launched its latest DLC this month which features new playable area called "Twilight" on the planet Hoth, a new game mode "Survival in the Ice Caves". Update fixes include ten percent damage for the primary weapon againts air units and the damage of barrage has risen from 50 to 55, as well as Chewbacca's Bowcaster has increased damaged from 10 to 15 percent.

In other news, "Star Wars: Battlefront" will likely feature two new characters from the "Star Wars" film series.

According to Cinemablend, the two playable characters for "Star Wars Battlefront's" March update are Nien Nub and Greedo. While most movie goers are not familiar with the names, most "Star Wars" fans will recognize Nien Nub as a rebel starfighter in past films and has served as Lando Calrissian in the Millenium Falcon during "Star Wars: Return of the Jedi".

Greedo on the other hand, was first seen in the "A New Hope" when he tried to put Han Solo down only to get killed inthe catina scene in Tatooine.

Several fans wanted to see more iconic "Star Wars" characters as possible playable characters in "Star Wars Battlefront" such as Obi-wan Kenobi, Yoda, Chewbacca, Starkiller and many more.

DICE will also have plenty more DLC updates for the game will include the Bespin map in the summer and the Death Star in the fall.

"Star Wars Battlefront" is currently available in stores for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and for the PC.
