In a world run by smartphones, battery backup is an emerging concern. However, buying bigger batteries is not an answer. The bigger a battery, the longer it takes to charge and time is an expensive commodity for smart phone users.

Gadgets to use recommend that rapid charging technology is an effective interim solution for our present generation of smartphones. Six of the most popular fast charging solutions available today are: Qualcomm's Quick Charge, Pope's VOOC, Mediator's Pump Express+, Motorola's Turbo Power, Samsung's Adaptive Fast Charging and Huawei's Smart Power. Gadgets to use reports that Qualcomm's Quick Charge charges up to 75 percent times faster than any other conventional charger. However, it gives its highest recommendation to Oppo's VOOC. It describes VOOC as most cutting-edge on account of its seven pin set-up, protection for battery fuse and protection against overload of adaptor, port and battery.

In a test by Android Authority of the afore-mentioned six chargers, it was found out that Motorola's Turbo Power is quickest of all chargers, followed by Qualcomm's Quick Charge and then Samsung's Adaptive Fast Charging.

According to Android Authority, a phone is charged in two stages. First stage of charging takes around thirty minutes when a phone gets charged up to eighty percent. Remaining twenty percent is charged in next stage and this may take a much longer time. Chargers which quickly charge in first stage are MediaTek's Pump Express+ followed closely by Oppo's VOOC.

Oppo's VOOC registers the least increase in temperature while charging. At other end is Motorola's Turbo Power which registers an increase of 19.9 degree Celsius during charging.

Android Authority recommends Oppo's VOOC for charging while watching a video. However, for charging phones within a short period of time, Motorola's Turbo Power and Huawei's Smart Power come highly recommended.
