Android 6.0, 6.0.1 Marshmallow Comes To Galaxy S6, S6 Edge, S6 Edge+

Samsung has finally released Android 6.0 Marshmallow update for its 2016 flagships smartphones such as Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 Edge and Galaxy S6 Edge+ owners.

Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow update has now been made officially available for owners of Galaxy S6 Edge and Galaxy S6 Edge+ in South Korea, Phone Arena reported. Also according to Samsung, the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update has been update officially made available for international variants of Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge.

Several weeks ago, Samsung had started the Android 6.0 beta program for users of Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge in South Korea and the U.K. Only users who registered for the beta program were able to install the Android 6.0 on S6 and S6 smartphones.

Now, Samsung has finally released the Android 6.0 update for the aforementioned smartphones starting from Feb. 15. One needs to be aware of the fact that Android 6.0 update is currently unavailable for owners of carrier variants of Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge smartphones.

The Android 6.0 update brings newer features like Doze Mode, a feature that improving the performance of the battery when the handset is in standby mode. The Google Now on Tap understand what is present on the screen of the user and provides contextual information.

The Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow update that is available in the home country for S6 Edge and S6 Edge+ users includes over 200 emojis. Both Android 6.0 and 6.0.1 updates for above mentioned smartphone are modified with TouchWiz UI from Samsung.

The Android 6.0.1 update for S6 Edge and S6 Edge+ users brings additional features for the edge screen. It brings a new two-row260 x 550 pixels panel for providing quick access to frequently used apps through panels such as Task Edge, Quick Tool, and People Edge.

A recently surfaced leaked document from Samsung has revealed that the Android M upgrade will be available for Galaxy Note 5 and S6 Edge+ in this month. Samsung has already started beta program for AT&T Galaxy Note 5 users in the U.S.

The Android M update will be coming to S6 and S6 Edge users in February and March. While other Samsung smartphones like Galaxy Note 4, Note Edge and S5 will be receiving Android 6.0 upgrade in March and April.
