'Overwatch' Update: 'Game of the Year' Edition Coming Soon; Blizzard Entertainment Confirms 'Anniversary' Event [VIDEOS]

The latest updates for "Overwatch" will feature an Anniversary event and details on the "Game of the Year" Edition.

It seems that Blizzard Entertainment will be releasing a "Game of the Year" Edition of "Overwatch" and launch on its Anniversary celebration. According to TrueAchievements, the "Game of the Year" Edition will include the main "Overwatch" game, The full game, ten Bonus Loot Boxes with cosmetic goodies for each heroes, five Origin Hero Skins, a Baby Winston Pet for adventures in "World of WarCraft," the Tracer Hero for battling it out in "Heroes of the Storm" and many more.

The "Overwatch Game of the Year" Edition is slated to launch on May 23 and along with several Anniversary loot boxes for the game. The anniversary celebration was first hinted at last week during Activision-Blizzard’s call to investors by Mike Morhaime.

The following day, sound files were posted to reddit referenced destruction, and the escorting, of an objective. Many characters in the sound files were said to have five unique lines for different circumstances.

With the "Overwatch one" year anniversary landing on May 24, the game boasting 30 million unique users and earning a place on Activision-Blizzard’s $1 billion seller list, it was pretty obvious that a new even has been planned out not only celebrate launch, but to thank the massive playerbase as well, VG 24/7 reported.

Game director Jeff Kaplan recently announced that they focusing on saving/exporting gameplay highlights for "Overwatch," along with upcoming Symmetra legendardy skins and Competitive Play season 5 next month.

Kaplan added that they are considering a Gun-game type mode and changes on Orisa in their next PTR update, which also include season 5 of Competitive Play.

Blizzard also teased that three more heroes are coming to "Overwatch" with Doomfist being hinted as the 25 hero, while the names of the new characters are revealed to be Ivon and Bria.

"Overwatch" is currently available for the PS4, Xbox One and PC platforms.
