'Final Fantasy VII Remake' is an upcoming video game remake, developed and published by Square Enix, of the original 1997 PlayStation role-playing video game by Square.

New "Final Fantasy 7" remake will feature a possible Nintendo Switch version at E3 2017 and the game's release date set for next year.

Several rumors are making rounds regarding "Final Fantasy 7" remake's appearance at this year's Electronic Entertainment Expo event. Twitter username Dystify tweeted that a second hand source claimed "Final Fantasy 7" remake will make an appearance during the event and teased a Nintendo Switch version.

Ofcourse, its yet to be determined whether Dystify's source is legitimate, since the Twitter username did not named the source's name and the fact that Square Enix has not yet revealed nor confirmed any detais for "Final Fantasy 7" remake at E3 2017, SegmentNext reported.

Although previous reports revealed that Square Enix has been testing out the specs for Nintendo Switch, as they prefer to develop games for console rather than the Xbox Scorpio. The Japanese developers is actively looking at new ports and other games to bring to the system, which is selling very well so far, especially in Japan. They also teased other new projects in development for the system.

Square Enix is launching five games for the Nintendo Switch, but "Final Fantasy 7" remake was not included yet due to the game being relatively new and in developement, but it does not mean it could not be added to the console. However, Square Enix is very clearly testing the waters with Nintendo Switch and wants to platform to succeed similar to their titles.

Historically, even for very successful Nintendo consoles like the Wii, third-party games have tended to underperform expectations, often because they came years late, or lowered down from ist original. That is why Square Enix needs to give things a try more carefully first, with small but new and exciting ports.

Meanwhile, "Final Fantasy 7" remake will not be launching this year for the PlayStation 4 as Square Enix's latest investor document shows that the remake and "Kingdom Hearts 3" will launch at 2018 and beyond.

Game titles like "Dragon Quest XI" and "Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age" will launch sometime this year, both "Final Fantasy 7" remake, "Kingdom Hearts 3" and the Square Enix produced Marvel games do not have a listed release date.

While this is not a formal announcement that none of these will release this year, it seems incredibly unlikely that gamers will see any of them before 2018 at the earliest months next year, GameSpot reported.

There is no release date announcement for "Final Fantasy 7" remake.
