'Final Fantasy VII Remake' is an upcoming video game remake, developed and published by Square Enix, of the original 1997 PlayStation role-playing video game by Square.

The latest details for "Final Fantasy 7" remake will feature new dungeon exploration, enemy encounters and a PC version by 2018.

It seems that Square Enix is planning big for "Final Fantasy 7" remake as game director Tetsuya Nomura explained how the new game will have a different take on enemy encounters and exploring dungeons.

Nomura told Famitsu (via Gematsu) that enemy encounters in "Final Fantasy 7" remake are not as random as it was in the original "Fina Fantasy VII" as it is more "seamless" and players can see the paths laid out in front of them. It may not make as much sense for players to just wander around aimlessly and expect that doing so will still work.

The game director noted that player's need to take cover in order to avoid enemies or at least give the element of surprise when players attack them unnoticed. Nomura stated that exploring certain areas and whether or not players will choose interact with enemies might bring something different in "Final Fantasy 7" remake, separating it from the original.

Specifically, these new mechanics could be hinting that the random encounters that were prominently featured in "Final Fantasy VII" may no longer be included in the remake, or at the very least, they may be limited this time around.

Potentially doing away with random encounters or even just having them take place less frequently would certainly help make exploration easier. Players who were previously frustrated by how certain areas could feature seemingly higher encounter rates may be pleased by this possible change as well.

Nomura stated before that "Final Fantasy 7" remake will be more action-based and will not longer need for turne-based gameplay. Materia will be something different in the remake as it is "skill" based and it will be separate from magic.

In other news, Square Enix might be planning to launch "Final Fantasy 7" remake for the PC sometime in 2018.

Square Enix has ambiguous plans for the "Final Fantasy" game series within the year, with "Final Fantasy 7" remake's first episode within the year for the PlayStation 4, along with other "Final Fantasy" titles like Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age" and "Final Fantasy XIII" trilogy with 1080p and 60fps.

"Final Fantasy 7" remake will likely launch for the PC next year alongside "Final Fantasy XV" PC version, and in addition, Square Enix plans to have a "Final Fantasy 30th Anniversary Collection" for the PS4 and PS Vita. The collection will contain "Final Fantasy" games from the very first to ninth title, which is a "must have" for gaming fans.

However, Square Enix game producer Shinji Hashimoto clarified these plans regarding the "Final Fantasy" games and stated that the company has not announced anything yet, and bare it as just rumors for now.

Hashimoto assured "Final Fantasy" fans that the development team is working really hard on these titles, especially "Final Fantasy 7" remake and will give an update on its status soon, Gamepur reported.

"Final Fantasy 7" remake is speculated to launch sometime within 2017 for the PS4.
