Google has just announced that the company will be paying more attention on their efforts for their smaller devices moving forward. It will likely be safe to accept the fact that the company might already have some devices in store to be released within this year. One would be the highly anticipated new flagship tablet, the 2017 Google Nexus 7.

The intention of the company to stick in smaller products, just like the recently launched Pixel smartphones and Google Home speaker, has been made obvious with the recent cancellation of Google Chromebook Pixel laptops. Considering that, the chances of having new Chromebook Pixel models are likely to be very low. People are said to be focusing now on the company's upcoming 2017 Google Nexus 7.

The upcoming Google Nexus 7 has been rumored to have a brand new operating system from Google namely Google Andromeda OS, according to Android Police. However, a lot of sources claimed that this will likely not be the case. It is said that having another operating system might just confuse consumers and developers a lot more.

Having the Android 7.1 Nougat would be making a lot more sense since this version is more widely known. Nevertheless, there is still a possibility that Google may have to go in a different path and pre-install the Chrome OS instead.

The tablet is expected to have high-end specifications and features. This would possibly help the company to compete amongst other tablet offerings. The upcoming Google Nexus 7 will reportedly have a 7-inch AMOLED display that includes a 2560 x 1440 resolution.

Moreover, the flagship tablet will be powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon processor that is paired with 4GB of RAM. Additionally, the device will possibly be offered in 64GB of internal storage and could have a USB Type-C port.
