The upcoming Google Nexus 7 2017 is speculated to have new features, a powerful operating system and upgraded specs as well.

The search giant Google has not revealed any information about the the forthcoming tablet. The Nexus 7 2017 is expected to arrive towards the end of this year. Speculations are doing the rounds that the Google tablet will have an Andromeda operating system.

According to Android Police, the new OS is a combination of the Android operating system and the Chromebook operating system. The Andromeda operating system will give the new device the same capabilities as a PC. Reports also suggest that the Google Nexus 7 2017 will sport a 7-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 2,560 x 1,440 pixels.

Other rumored features include 64 GB of internal storage, 4 GB RAM, 13 megapixel rear-facing camera and a Snapdragon 820 processor. Furthermore, the upcoming Google tablet will feature a USB Type C. Also, virtual reality may be available for the Nexus 7 2017.

The Nexus tablet will reportedly run on Android 7.1.1 Nougat out-of-the-box. On December 5, 2016, Google officially rolled out Android 7.1.1 Nougat for the Pixel C tablet, Nexus 6P and Nexus 5X. In addition, the update is available for the Google Pixel XL and Pixel.

Android Nougat update includes some new features and extra tweaks over the initial release. The tech company has released OTA files and factory images. At present, all Nexus devices should be on the latest software.

Some reports suggest that the tech giant will release the tablet as the Pixel 7. Also, Google has announced to stop making the Chromebook Pixel laptop and has canceled the plans for the 2017 iteration. However, the possibility of having the tablet named Nexus 7 cannot be ruled out entirely as it is more recognizable in a worldwide perspective.
