'Tekken 7' Rumors: Bandai Namco Still Not Developing Console Versions Of The Game; Arcade Test For 'Fated Retribution' Set On February!

New details for "Tekken 7" will feature the scheduled arcade test for "Fated Retribution" on February and speculations that the console version of the game have not yet been developed.

Bandai Namco announced that ""Tekken 7: Fated Retribution" will have several scheduled arcade tests next month. The beta tests are scheduled to start on Feb. 12-14 in several Japanese arcades such as Tokyo’s Namco Sugamo, Osaka’s Round One Stadium Sennichimae Arcade and Namco’s Hakata Bus Terminal Arcade in Fukuoka, AvoidingThePuddle reported.

"Tekken 7: Fated Retribution" will feature more enhanced graphics and customization features for current "Tekken" characters such as Bryan Fury, King, Lili, Xiaoyu and more. The latest version of the sequel will also feature a guest character in the form of "Street Fighter" fan favorite Akuma, as he is somehow involve in the Mishima Clan conflict and plans on eliminating Heihachi and Kazuya Mishima as payment for his debt to Kazumi Mishima.

Game director Katsuhiro Harada and game designer Michael Murray stated that they never intended to have guest characters in "Tekken 7" as they feared that having someone from ther video game titles could change the game's continuety within the story.

So far, Akuma is the only guest character in "Tekken 7", but Murray hinted that they plan on adding more guest characters soon as they idea is still open at the moment. There are also rumors that characters such as Bob, Nina, Anna, Kunimitsu, Eliza and Jun Kazama could return and join "Tekken 7's" growing roster.

In other news, several rumors are making rounds that Bandai Namco has not yer started developing the console versions of "Tekken 7".

Murray and visual designer Kousuke Waki told PlayStationLifeStyle that they currently handling "Tekken 7" and its updated version "Fated Retribution" since they are planning arcade test on it next month. Murray added that they have not yet started on the console versions of the game, but guaranteed that after the arcade test they will begin porting the game in the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles.

Waki added that they wanted gamers to recognize familiar characters within "Tekken 7: Fated Retribution" along with new faces, since enhanced versions of severl "Tekken" titles such as "Dark Resurrection" and "Bloodline Rebellion" introduced several characters like Lili, Dragunov, Lars and Alisa.

Murray explained that putting "Fated Retribution" first in the arcades could be the perfect opportunity to collect data and listen to the fans feedbacks in order to create new game features and ideas.

The game's roster includes Jin, Kazuya, Heihachi, Hwoarang, Steve Fox, Asuka, Lili, Xiaoyu, Marshall Law, Paul Phoenix, King, Yoshimitsu, Bryan Fury, Feng Wei, Dragunov, Leo, Lars and Alisa. New faces are also inroduced such as Lucky Chloe, Katarin Alves, Claudio Serafino, Jose Rizal, Shaheen, Gigas, Jack-7 and Kazumi Mishima.

"Tekken 7" is speculated to launch on late 2016 for the PS4 and Xbox One, while Harada teased that the sequel will land on the PC platform soon.
