Amazon released the Amazon Fire TV back in 2014 and has since upgraded its hardware into two different segments - the Amazon Fire TV box and Amazon Fire TV Stick. The latter is a cheaper version of the former.

The Amazon TV box sports all high-end specifications, even supporting 4K resolution streaming, while the Amazon stick focuses more on portability. In a recent update in September, it received a bump in its processor; from dual core to quad core and also a faster WiFi band.

The Amazon Fire TV has a huge collection of over 7,000 channels, apps, games, and more.

In the new update to the Fire TV UI, the main navigation for things like Home, Your Videos, Movies, TV Shows, Apps, etc. has been moved from the left-hand side to the top. Below that is a large area that will draw attention to Amazon Original content including apps, movies, and more.

One of the main changes in the UI is the ability for a user to play trailers for Amazon suggested content in the same area as the content.

Amazon is planning to roll out the update to users before the end of this year. However, the priority is set for owners of the Fire TV Stick with Alexa Voice Remote and the newest generation of the Fire TV. Older models of the Fire TV and TV Stick will receive the update soon after that.
