The LG G5 is expected to arrive on Feb. 21 with a full metal uni-body design and still feature a drawer-like mechanism for the removable battery.

The LG G5 will be released by the South Korean brand to replace the LG G4. Even though most flagship smartphones in 2015 arrived with full-metal design, LG decided to launch LG G4 with high quality polycarbonate chassis that features genuine leather on the rear panel. LG G5 rumors suggest that it will be arriving with a uni-body metallic construction.

Fresh speculations suggest that LG G5 will not arrive with curved chassis that are available on other LG smartphones like LG G4, LG G Flex 2 and LG G Flex. The 2016 flagship will rather arrive with a flat design coupled with rounded corners and edges, Android Authority reported.

Last year, LG had aggressively marketed two features of the LG G4, namely the removable battery and microSD slot. This year, LG engineers have devised a novel way to include a user-replaceable battery on the LG G5. New rumors have revealed that it will arrive with removable bottom bezel through a drawer-like mechanism. This will let users to replace the battery easily. Moreover, the battery drawer will be built in such a way that water and dust will not get inside the smartphone.

On the rear panel, it will be housing a dual camera system and a fingerprint scanner. The rumored specs of the LG G5 include a Quad HD resolution scree of 5.3-inches. The LG G4 from 2014 and LG G3 from 2013 sport larger screens of 5.5-inches. Speculations are rife that like the LG V10 smartphone, the LG G4 successor will be fitted with a secondary ticker display placed above the main screen.

The Snapdragon 820 that is expected to power most flagships next year will be present under the hood of LG G5. It will be coupled with 3 GB or 4 GB of RAM. The rear side of the LG G5 will be sporting a dual camera setup for the 16-megapixel camera.

LG has already sent invitations for its unveil event that will be held during the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2016 tech trade show in the next month in Barcelona, Spain. The South Korean tech giant has officially confirmed through the invitation that it will be unleashing a flagship smartphone on Feb. 21, Phone Arena reported.
