If reports are anything to go by, the electronics maker Motorola is making a new Moto X 2016 smartphone that feature a metal unibody design. Given below are the specifications, features and rumors of the upcoming smartphone.

The software company is getting ready to launch the fourth-generation Moto X 2016 smartphone. Several reports suggest that the new smartphone will sport a fingerprint sensor.

According to Pocket-lint, the Moto X 2016 will be powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 820 chipset. Also, to avoid over-heating problems encountered by the previous-generation Qualcomm processor, the Moto X 2016 will have a heat pipe.

No reliable information is available to determine if the new chipset will experience the same over-heating problems encountered by the Snapdragon 810. The electronics company has introduced a heat pipe to cool down the processor on board.

,According to a Phone Arena report, the devices such as Xiaomi Mi Note Pro, Sony Xperia Z5 Premium and OnePlus 2 employ heat pipes to keep the temperature of Snapdragon 810 SoC in check.

Qualcomm has said that the S820 does not have over-heating issues. To tackle the problem, the company uses its own Kryo cores.

A picture of the Moto X 2016 has leaked and shows a handset with a microphone, speaker grill, big rear camera lens and premium metal case.  

Some reports suggest that the new handset will have a 5.8- inch screen with Quad HD resolution and Corning Gorilla Glass 4. Furthermore, it will be fully dustproof and waterproof much like it predecessor.

Rumors are also doing the rounds that the Moto X 2016 will have a 27 MP rear-facing camera that supports 4K video recording. It will be able to play videos with QHD resolution. The upcoming device will have an 8 MP front-facing camera with LED flash.

According to rumors, the smartphone will have a 4000mAh battery that may support a fingerprint scanner and fast charge. The Moto X 2016 may carry a price tag of $400.

It is expected that the new device will hit the store shelves in the 2nd quarter of this year. Motorola has not revealed any information about the new device, therefore, take these rumors with a pinch of salt.
