Amazon Prime's gaming discounts come on top of free Release Date delivery that Amazon already provides to Prime members for many pre-ordered games.

Amazon is treating its Prime members with huge discounts on new video games ordered through the site.

Amazon Prime members will now get 20 percent off of new games. The discount applies to physical copies of new games either pre-ordered before their release date or purchased in their first two weeks of availability. Games pre-ordered on Amazon are shipped to be delivered on release day, according to Time.

However, there are some restrictions to the discount. While the discount will apply to Collector's Editions of games, buyers will not get a discount on games that are bundled with a console. If the buyer has purchased the game after the first two weeks that the game is on sale, they will have to pay full price.

Among the discounted physical copy of the games include "Uncharted 4: A Thief's End" and "Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 4" both for PlayStation 4. For Xbox One, "Assassin's Creed Chronicles" and "EA Sports UFC 2" are included.

Amazon Prime's gaming discounts come on top of free Release Date delivery that Amazon already provides to Prime members for many pre-ordered games. The Prime subscription also comes with benefits including the streaming Prime Video and Prime Music services, cloud photo storage on Prime Photos, and free two-day shipping on most products.

It is also worth noting that Best Buy has a similar deal called Gamers Club Unlocked, Slash Gear reported. It offers a lower cost of entry. Best Buy's program offers the same 20 percent discount, along with other perks, for $30 every two years. Meanwhile, Amazon Prime costs $99 a year. But Prime also comes with a host of other non-gaming benefits, such as free two-day shipping, access to Amazon's streaming movie and TV catalog and lots more.

The effectivity of both programs depends on the needs of gamers. If buyers are just looking for video games, Best Buy's cheaper program could be the wiser choice. But Prime is a compelling package that seems to get better every few months.

The discount is now available to all Prime members, and retroactively applies to any existing, unfulfilled preorders. Going forward, the discount will show up when the buyer go to check out.
