The TCL 580 budget smartphone has been unveiled at an event in China.

The TCL 580 comes with a glass body in a metal frame, Phone Radar reported. It has a 5-inch high-definition AMOLED 2.5D curved glass display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. It is powered by an octa-core 64-bit MediaTek MT6750 chipset clocked at a speed of 1.5 GHz along with Mali T860 GPU.

The TCL 580 also comes with a 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal storage that can be further extended via a microSD card slot. It is packed with a 2460 mAh non-removable battery that is expected to give at least a day of usage. The big oval-shaped home button is fitted with the fingerprint scanner, unlike on the rear of the recently launched TCL 950 smartphone.

The TCL 580 features a 13-megapixel camera at the back with a f/2.0 aperture and phase detection autofocus for faster focusing. It also features a 5-megapixel selfie camera with a f/2.2 aperture. Both cameras are equipped with LED flash for capturing images even in the low light conditions.

According to Mobipicker, the TCL 580 runs on the Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system out of the box. It is a dual SIM dual standby smartphone and offers 4G LTE only on one SIM. Other connectivity options include GPS, A-GPS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2, and microUSB 2.0 port.

The TCL 580 sports a power button and volume control on the right edge. It has no multi-function key as the TCL 950 but sports the NXP Smart PA amplifier chip for better audio experience. It measures 144.5 x 69.2 x 7.05 mm and weighs 135 grams. 

The TCL 580 is priced at $210 (1399 Yuan or around Rs. 14,000) and comes in gold and silver colors. The device will go on sale starting Oct. 10 in China. It is unclear when the device would be available in other markets.
