Xiaomi has unveiled a Micro Four Thirds mirrorless camera called M1 under the company's associated XiaoYi brand.

The M1 promises to provide solid performance for a friendly price. With a striking resemblance to Leica cameras like the Leica T, the M1 is designed with an emphasis on simplicity as it has only has four buttons and a touch screen.

Xiaomi’s mirrorless camera is capable of shooting 50-megapixel photos and recording 4K video at 30 frames per second. Interested buyers can choose from 42.5mm F1.8 and 12-40mm F3.5-5.6 lenses. The camera features a 20-megapixel Sony IMX269 sensor with a maximum ISO 25,600 sensitivity. There is no built-in flash or electronic viewfinder on the device, Android Central reported. 

The camera has a 3-inch touchscreen with an interface similar to the company’s phone's camera app. The M1 will be available in black and white color. It features Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity, allowing users to transfer images to their smartphone easily.

Xiaomi's Micro Four Thirds mirrorless camera M1 will be available on China’s JD.com starting Sep. 23 and will likely be limited to the Chinese market. The company has not announced whether the camera will be available in other markets.

The price of the M1 starts at $330 for the version with a 12-40mm f/3.5-5.6 lens. The version of the M1 with a 42.5mm f/1.8 lens costs $450, according to Ubergizmo.
