Out of the three rumored major gaming consoles, only the Nintendo NX has been officially acknowledged to exist. Nintendo have been constantly updating the community with how the system is faring since last year.

It is no longer a secret that the Nintendo Wii U is a disappointment when it comes to sales record, especially when compared to the PlayStation 4 or the Xbox One. Nintendo, in its effort to revive its gaming division, created the NX.

Rumors about the Nintendo NX claim that the console will support 4K native resolution as well as upgraded hardware. The NX is expected to be unveiled at the upcoming 2016 Electronic Entertainment Expo. The release date of the console is expected to be around November.

On the side of Sony, several rumors and speculations claim that the company is working on an upgraded version of the PlayStation 4 console. Dubbed the PlayStation 4.5, the console is rumored to have a codename NEO, according to IGN. Leaked information about the console reveals that it will sport upgraded processor, graphics processing unit and storage space.

Sony has kept a quite word about the device, but there are indications pointing to a possible support for 4K resolution. Sony's entry into the virtual reality platform, the PlayStation VR, is set to be released this fall. Experts believe that the PlayStation 4.5, with its upgraded hardware, will be released afterwards.

On the side of Microsoft, rumors about the upgraded Xbox 1.5 are on the rise. Unlike the PlayStation 4.5 or the Nintendo NX, not a single leak can attest whether the Xbox 1.5 really does exist, according to Forbes. However, due to the increasing rumors about rival consoles, it will not be a surprise if Microsoft opt in to release an upgraded version of its flagship console as well.
