World’s longest movie releases seven-hour trailer before 2020 month-long premiere

The world's all-time longest movie with a 30-day running time has just released its seven hour and 20 minute trailer. "Ambiancé" is an experimental movie made by Swedish director Anders Weberg that requires one full month to see. The second trailer is over six times longer than the 72-minute teaser trailer that was released a few years ago, while an interminable 72-hour trailer will be rolled out in 2018.

"Ambiancé" is set on a beach in southern Sweden and features two performance artists, according to Yahoo. The movie has no cuts. IMDb describes the film's story as one in which space and time are mixed into a surreal trip beyond places, and has a non-linear story summary of time the artist spent with moving image.     

Weberg shot the movie in the same region of Sweden where Ingmar Bergman filmed the movie "The Seventh Seal." The 1957 drama-fantasy film is set during the Black Death and tells the story of a medieval knight who plays a game of chess with a player representing Death.  

Meanwhile, the month-long film is set to premiere for 2020. It will get one global screening across all continents on planet Earth. After its one screening the movie will be destroyed, according to Indie Wire.  

There will be a few big challenges related to the movie. They include completing the 720-hour movie, but also finding an audience who is willing to sit through a movie marathon lasting almost 2.6 million seconds.

In related news, AMC has ended its plan to allow texting in some movie theaters as a way to boost is millennial movie-goers.  CEO Adam Aron had previously said in a recent interview with Variety that AMC Theaters might consider allowing customers to send and receive text messages in some cases.

However, the movie theater chain stated on April 15, Friday that it will certainly not allow texting in the near future. It is listening to the negative feedback it received on social media.

AMC will focus on other ways to get people to watch movies at its theaters across the United States. That includes spending over $1 billion to improve its theaters' big screens, sound systems, and movie seating.
