Ladies and gents behold as the Marshmallow update for the Sony smartwatch 3 is entering the building. Watches now in construction are getting the OTA immediately, while the rest is to be updated until the end of the week.

The uniqueness of the Broadcom ARM chip in this watch is probably the reason why we have been waiting so long for this update, but finally all the worries caused by tech snobs spreading rumors about leaving the device behind, have come to a definitive end in a web-shaking fashion.

What's worth mentioning at this point is that this would be the best time for Sony smartwatch 3 owners to take time and look into the changes and improvements this long-awaited update will bring, particularly the wrist gestures which outline the following:  users can now scroll through cards, perform action on a card and very easily and quickly return to watch face using the wrist gestures which makes it even more attractive and fun to use than before.

If in any case it so happens that the update is not received upon its release then one can manually check for it by finding Settings > About > System > System updates on your watch.

No further information had been given by Piekarski about the future, post-Marshmallow updates, but one thing is for sure: developers should prepare to soon exclude the API22 (Lollipop) support from the applications.

According to Piekarski, another announcement will be made for developers so that they must know when API22 support is to be removed from their apps because API23 will soon roll out.  Developers will now be eagerly waiting for new API support.
