Virtual reality or VR gaming has been the talk of the town since early 2015, and because of all the fanfare surrounding the technology, multinational electronic manufacturing companies have been releasing their VR headsets over the past few months. From HTC's Vive to the crowd-funded Oculus Rift, gamers have a lot of VR options to choose from. However, VR gaming warrants some serious hardware in order to function at the optimum rate. Fortunately, recently, a Taiwanese information technology corporation announced the arrival of the first virtual reality-ready laptop available in the market.

In an official press release published on April 4 on the company's website, MSI Computer Corp. confirmed that their WT72 6QN mobile workstation or laptop is now available for public purchase. According to the company's president Andy Tung, the WT72 6QN is equipped with a Quadro GPU that will allow the device to accomplish demanding tasks effortlessly.

"The WT72 with NVIDIA's M5500 Quadro GPU is the world's first VR Ready mobile workstation and can blaze through the most demanding tasks," remarked by Tung.

In the same statement, it was revealed that MSI and NVIDIA have decided to partner with HTC Vive in their virtual reality efforts.

"The HTC Vive vision is to deliver the most immersive VR experience in the world by putting the customer at the center of the experience, with the content all around them and the ability to move and interact with their virtual world. We are proud to partner with MSI and NVIDIA and to see the unveiling of the first mobile VR workstation," announced by vice president of HTC VR Dan O' Brien.

According to Digital Trends, the mobile workstation is offered in three variations. Two laptops are equipped with a 17.3 inch display at 3840 X 2160 resolution, while one measures 17.3 inches at 1920 X 1080 resolution. The main difference between the three variants lies with their processor. One model uses intel Xeon 53-1505M v5, another an Intel Core i7-6920HQ, while the third model runs on an Intel Core i7-6700HQ.

The new MSI workstation is priced at $5,500 to $6,900 depending on the model.
