Huawei has officially announced its new flagship smartphones, Huawei P9 and Huawei P9 Plus. Both the smartphones come with high-end specs like Kirin 955 SoC, 4 GB of RAM and 12 MP dual cameras.

The Huawei P9 and Huawei P9 Plus will be first flagship smartphones from the Chinese manufacturer that will be available soon in the U.S. Both the smartphones were officially unveiled through a dedicated launch event that was held in London.

The Huawei P9 is fitted with a 5.2-inch LCD screen that supports full HD resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. It is powered by company's very own HiSilicon Kirin 955 chipset that contains quad cores of Cortex A72 and quad cores of Cortex A53, Phone Arena reported.

The P9 is available in two RAM variants. The 3 GB RAM model features 32 GB of storage whereas the 4 GB RAM model offers 64 GB of native storage.

The Huawei P9 has a 12-megapixel dual camera setup by Leica on its rear panel. It is equipped with a dual-LED flash. The front-facing camera of the P9 is of 8-megapixel.

The back panel also houses a fingerprint scanner and it is packed with a 3000 mAh battery. It also sports a USB Type-C port.

The Huawei P9 Plus is a phablet device that is equipped with a 5.5-inch Super AMOLED display that offers full HD resolution. Before its official announcement, it was expected to launch with P9 Max moniker. Even this model is powered by Kirin 955 chipset that is supported 4 GB of RAM and native storage of 64 GB.

Like P9, it comes with a 12-megapixel dual camera system on its rear side and a front-facing camera of 8-megapixel. It also flanked with features like fingerprint scanner and USB Type-C slot. It is equipped with a huge battery of 3400 mAh battery.

Both Huawei P9 and P9 Plus offers support for additional microSD storage slot. Both models come preinstalled with Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS that is overlaid with Huawei EMUI 4.0 software.

The 3 GB and 4 GB RAM models of the Huawei P9 will be costing $680 and $740. The Huawei P9 Plus priced at $855. The Huawei P9 will be available from April 16 whereas its larger sibling will be available from May 20, GSM Arena reported.
