Hypnos Hoodie is a hooded sweatshirt that includes a built-in inflatable pillow, making it redundant to bring extra travel pillows while away from home. The company launched a Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign in November 2015, and has raised over $117,000 after its original goal of $30,000.

The new product is like a portable cushion or wearable mini mattress. It is the perfect tool for people who take a lot of trips, or want to take a cat nap during the day.

The hoodie-pillow combo is available in a fitted or relaxed style. It is also offered in a pullover or zip-up version, and three colors (charcoal gray, speckled gray, and black).

People who are not fans of hoodies have another option since a lightweight nylon jacket version is also available.  Hypnos is also offering the new product in adult and child sizes.

Meanwhile, the pillow conforms to the shape of a person's head. A hidden valve near the neck is used to inflate the pillow in three seconds, according to Today.

The Hypnos Hoodie can also be deflated quickly. Users can then remove the pillow from the hoodie to increase comfort while not using it, or to wash it.

Multiple levels of support are available through the Kickstarter campaign, including a zip-up sweatshirt ($59) and pullover ($69), with United States shipping costing an extra $5, according to CNET. Shipments are scheduled to start in March.

Hypnos was founded by Hollywood producer-actor Josh Woodle. In the product's Kickstarter pitch video he explains that Hoodie provides people with the gift of sleep.

Woodle argues that people need the product because they become busy during the day, and work allows  less time to sleep. However, the Hypnos Hoodie is helpful because it provides its users a way to catch some sleep during the day.

Woodle shares that it took two years to develop the high-tech hooded sweatshirt. He explains that he invented the product to make people's lives a little better, and allow them to support their heads better when taking a nap.

Recent studies show that almost one-third of Americans suffers from sleep deprivation. Experts recommend 7 to 9 hours of shut-eye per night.
