Huawei has unveiled two new smartwatches that have a more feminine appearance, known as "Elegant" and Jewel." They include softer features than the original Huawei smartwatch launched last year, such as a sapphire crystal watch face, thin straps, and gold cases.

The Chinese tech company launched the pair of new smartwatches at a press conference, according to Daily Mail. It was just before the start of the 2016 Consumer Electronic Show (CES).

Elegant features a rose gold-plated body. Meanwhile, Jewel's casing includes 68 Swarovski crystals from the Austrian company.

The two new Huawei smartwatches are actually a bit larger than the company's original wearable. They are exactly 2 millimeters longer than the first smart watch, according to The Verge.

Elegant and Jewel are not only being marketed as tech gadgets, but also as fashion accessories. The company describes the wearables as where "fashion meets technology."

Huawei has revealed that the wrist wearables will be available in the United States during early 2016. Engadget reports that Jewel will have a $599 price tag, while Elegant will cost $499.

The Chinese firm is quickly becoming a major player in the tech world. It claimed in a recent business summary that it has the third biggest smartphone market share, following only Samsung and Apple.

Huawei also announced its Mate 8 smartphone at the press conference. The mobile device features a two-day battery life on a single charge, and a revamped processor that boosts graphics processing unit (GPU) performance by 125 percent.

The Chinese firm also announced a new tablet computer. MediaPad M2 will feature upgraded speakers.

Huawei was founded in 1987, and originally built phone switches. The company now sells its products and services in over 140 countries worldwide, and serves 90 percent of the world's biggest telecoms operators.
