Fresh rumors indicate that HTC will not only build Nexus 2016 smartphones but also Nexus phones that will release in 2017 and 2018.

HTC is losing its popularity and by partnering with Google in building Nexus smartphones can certainly help the company in gaining its popularity. HTC has manufactured Nexus One (2010) phone and Nexus 9 (2014) tablet and now rumors suggest that Google and HTC have entered a three-year deal for building Nexus phones, Pocket Now reported.

One needs to be aware of the fact the rumor does not mention whether HTC will be building a Nexus tablet. Recent rumors have indicated that Google is considering manufacturing Nexus products on its own.

However, since it is said to have partnered with HTC for building forthcoming Nexus phones, rumors indicate that Google may manufacture its future tablets on its own. Since the global market of tablet is declining, it does not seem that Google will be launching a Nexus branded tablet anytime soon. The recently released Google Pixel C hybrid device was built by the search engine giant, Phone Arena reported.

The Nexus 5X built by LG has a 5.2-inch display and its lager sibling, the Nexus 6P has a bigger display of 5.7-inch. However, their successor models are expected to release next generation Google Nexus 2016 in screen sizes of 5.2-inch and 5.5-inch.

HTC is also rumored to make use of pressure-sensitive touchscreen display on the next generation Nexus phone. The 3D Touch feature on the iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus allows that the smartphones to differentiate between varied touch gestures on the display. The same sort of 3D Touch feature is speculated to be available on the Nexus 2016 phone.

The Nexus 2016 smartphone is expected to appear similar to the HTC 10 that will release next month. The H10 is said to arrive as an overhaul upgrade over last year's HTC One M9 and it is expected to sport a new design that is based on the HTC One A9 midrange smartphone.

LG has officially declared that it will not be manufacturing a Nexus smartphone. The reason behind it is that the company wants to focus on its brand. The upcoming HTC Nexus 2016 smartphones are expected to release in October this year.
