The reason behind it is that the South Korean tech giant wants to focus on building its own brand. LG has recently revealed its newest flagship the LG G5 that comes with a modular design.

Each year Google releases a new Nexus smartphone manufactured by a known brand. However, Nexus smartphones are solely advertised as Google devices. It is not marketed with the name of the company that manufactures it. Moreover, the manufacturing company receives smaller margins on Nexus devices.

The same spokesperson has also revealed that the canceled LG Watch Urbane LTE 2nd Edition would be introduced in the latter half of this year.  The smartwatch was cancelled as there was some problem with its screen. However, the issue seems to have been resolved now because of which company aims to release it this year.

At the beginning of this year, rumors started swirling that Google intends to manufacture the Nexus smartphones on its own just as Apple manufactures its iPhones. Google has been already providing its Android software for the Nexus lineup and the search engine giant also aims to build its hardware, The Information reported. The Pixel C tablet is a product that is manufactured by Google.

In December 2015, a tipster from China had revaeled that the successor smartphones for the Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P would be built by HTC. The Taiwanese tech giant has already worked with Google in the past for building the very first Nexus smartphone called Nexus One in 2010 and also the HTC Nexus 9 tablet that came out in 2014.

The tipster also revealed that the two Nexus smartphones of 2016 will be coming with smaller displays. The LG Nexus 5X has a 5.2-inch screen but its successor by HTC is expected to come with 5-inch screen. The Nexus 6P has a 5.7-inch its successor is rumored to come with 5.5-inch screen.
