Samsung is soon going to release Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow OTA update for Galaxy Note 5 owners.

In previous week, Samsung had released Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow update in the U.S. for users of unlocked editions of Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge. In South Korea, it has already release the same firmware update for Galaxy S6 Edge+ users.  Fresh information suggests that the arrival of Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow update is close at hand for Galaxy Note 5 users, Phone Arena reported.

The Android 6.0.1 update is already said to be available for Note 5 users in Cambodia. Owners of Galaxy Note 5 with model number SM-N920C can install the software upgrade using the Samsung Smart PC Suite, Sam Mobile reported. The publication has also revealed the link to firmware update that can be accessed to install the update manually.

Another reason that suggests that Android 6.0.1 upgrade is imminent for Note 5 users is that Samsung has already begun the Android Marshmallow beta program for AT&T Galaxy Note 5 users. Samsung had also launched Android M beta program for Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge users before releasing the upgrade.

The AT&T Galaxy Note 5 Android 6.0 beta has a build number of MMB29K.N920AUCU2BPB1. It weighs 1355.94 MB and it comes with the most recent security update. Hence, once the beta program for Galaxy Note 5 users in the U.S. comes to an end, the latest Android upgrade will be soon available for it.

The Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow update brings couple of new features such as Doze Mode and Google on Tap. The Doze Mode feature will solve battery draining issue by improving the battery performance of the device in standby mode.

The Google Now on Tap feature can understand the information present on the screen of the user and provide contextual search results. The Android 6.0.1 is minor update over Android 6.0 that includes support for more than 200 emojis.

The Android Marshmallow upgrade is overlaid with the most recent edition of the TouchWiz UI from Samsung. According to recent rumors, older smartphones like Galaxy Note 4, Note Edge and Galaxy S5 are expected to get updated to Android 6.0 by next month or April. Samsung is also expected to release the Android M update for other devices like Galaxy S6 Duos, Note 4 Duos, Galaxy S5 Neo, Galaxy Alpha, Galaxy Tab A, and Galaxy Tab S2 variants.
