Recently, a new Xiaomi phone was spotted on the GFXbench benchmarking site by the name "Xiaomi Jason". The smartphone is expected to feature a full-screen design display, Snapdragon 660 chipset and 6 GB RAM. It is speculated to launch as Xiaomi Redmi Pro 2.

Some sources have speculated that it could be a youth edition of XIaomi Mi 6.. Xiaomi's CEO had earlier debunked the rumors related to the Youth Version of its flagship Mi 6. It may possibly launch as Redmi Pro 2, Playful Droid reported. According to a Chinese publication, the smartphone is likely to launch in the next month.

According to GFXBench listing, the alleged Redmi Pro will be featuring a 5.5-inch display that will support a full HD resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 pixels. It is powered by Snapdragon 660 SoC. The smartphone and carries 6 GB of RAM along with 64 GB native storage. It is likely to sport a 12-megapixel rear camera and a 4-megapixel front shooter. The phone is likely to cost at 1,999 Yuan ($295).

Like the predecessor phone, the Redmi Pro 2 is expected to come with dual rear cameras. However, one of the most striking changes that will come on the Redmi Pro 2 is that it will be featuring a full-screen design display that is available on phones like Samsung Galaxy S8, Galaxy S8+ and LG G6. The full-screen design display on Redmi Pro 2 will be coming with super-slim bezels and offer an aspect ratio of 18:9. This suggests that Xiaomi is aiming to release a full-screen design powered with prowess of Snapdragon 660 with a budget pricing.

The Snapdragon 660 SoC is said to be the next best chipset in performance after the Snapdragon 835 chipset that are meant for flagship phones. The OPPO R11 is the first smartphone to be powered by Snapdragon 660. We are likely to see more phones getting launched powered by Snapdragon 660 SoC from various brands like Samsung, ASUS, Vivo, Sony and more.
