Game developer has just launched "Outlast 2" in April on Xbox One, PS4, Microsoft Windows and Mac. But fresh from release, it appears that Red Barrels has already teased fans some cryptic post, hinting that a new expansion could be in the offing.

On its official Twitter page, the development team has been posting images that look to be captured from a location that is close to the Temple Gate community. Fans know that it is the main setting of "Outlast 2".

Furthermore, the photos show some abandoned areas and there are landmarks such as fence and a relay tower as the main subjects. However, there is mor to these photos as they are marked with a sharpie and question marks including some notes on the bottom part of the images.

The dev's tweets also lead to a Tumblr page called The Murkoff Report. The said page reveals more photos including some recordings of the Temple Gate group's songs, creepy children's drawings, weird videos and a lot more.

There are also a number of tags seen in the Tumblr posts that also include those that have reference to the original game, its DLC as well as "Outlast 2". Many are wondering what all these could mean to the future of the sequel.

It is said that this could simply be a companion piece for hardcore gamers who would love to get more of the game's lore. Another posing possibility, however, is that Red Barrels is hinting that an expansion is coming out in the developer's pipeline some time in the near future.

"Outlast 2" follows the story of journalist Blake Langermann and his wife Lynn who wander in the Arizona desert to investigate the mysterious death of a pregnant woman just known as Jane Doe. It was released on Xbox One, PS4, WIndows PC and Mac on April 25.
