Despite this, initial details have already been confirmed such as the PC system requirements including some teases on its new plot, characters, and setting. Here's a rundown of what's revealed so far about "Outlast 2."

Minimum System Requirements

Red Barrles had launched a demo of "Outlast 2" on Steam earlier, where it also specified the PC system requirements to play the game. It is classified as minimum and recommended specs.

As for the minimum requirements, players must have a PC that runs a processor that is at least Intel Corei3-530 with 4GB RAM, Windows 7 operating system, 1GB VRAM NVIDIA Geforce GTX 260/ATI Radeon HD 4000 series graphic card and DirectX Version 10. It must also have at least 20 GB free storage and DirectX compatible sound card.

Outlast 2 Recommended System Requirements

For the recommended specs, the processor must be Core i5-760 2.8GHz or Phenom II X4 B50. The graphic card should be GeForce GTX 460 or Radeon HD 6850 or higher, with 4GB RAM or higher, Windows 7 64-bit or higher, Direct X 10 or higher, and 5GB or more Free Hard Disk Space.

New Plot, Characters, and Settings

In "Outlast 2," journalist Blake Langermann and his wife Lynn will wander the Arizona desert to investigate the mysterious death of a pregnant woman just known as Jane Doe. However, the couple met a tragic helicopter crash, which separated Blake from Lyn. Now, he has to look for her and traverse a town of people who believe that doomsday has come.

Based on the demo of the game, the plot will see the investigative journalist " following the trail of clues that started with the seemingly impossible murder of the pregnant woman known only as Jane Doe."

The pregnant woman apparently ignites the storyline for "Outlast 2" and the remote village of mentally twisted people is "where the real sickness spreads." Thus, the sequel will bring gamers into all crazy they saw back at Mount Massive Asylum, with a new journalist discovering what appears to be the mind blowing story to tell ever. That is if he doesn't end up dead.
