NetherRealm announced the return of The Joker in "Injustice 2's" roster last week as the Clown Prince of Crime will wreak havoc in the DC universe once again. It is revealed in The Joker's dialogue introduction, Batman says to him that he is from another earth, which the latter replied by saying that he likes this earth due to having followers named after the Clown Prince of Crime. This could confirmed that The Joker in the "Injustice 2" is not from the main DC universe, where Green Arrow and Black Canary came from.

The Joker from that main DC universe was transported to the "Injustice" universe by accident after the Batman and Lex Luthor transported Wonder Woman, Green Arrow, Green Lantern and Aquaman to help them uncover a Kryptonite weapon to defeat Superman. The Joker quickly discovers that a version of him was killed by Superman and group calling themselves the Joker Clan was named after him to fight the Regime.

While NetherRealm Studios has not officially provided any sort of explanation nor comment for the claim, having the Joker come in from another universe will actually makes sense. After all the DC comics has a long history of creating multiverses with different versions of the main DC characters.

Meanwhile, new details for "Injustice's" new game mode, the Multiverse mode has been revealed.

Multiverse mode was first spotted the Insomnia Gaming Festival in Birmingham, England as the new game mode will act as the "Living Tower" mode in "Mortal Kombat X."

Gamers can select select missions and play out short story lines through a series of fights that will earn player's unique gear and exclusive rewards. They are all special themed and timed challenges that players will need to survive through out the game mode, PlayStationLifeStyle reported.
