New updates for the "God of War" PS4 will feature a possible appearance and gameplay at E3 2017 and Vikings not featured in the story.

Game director Cory Balrog revealed new game details about the new "God of War" sequel for the PlayStation 4 as he confirmed the plot of the sequel will not feature Vikings and it takes place before them.

One gaming fan tweeted a question to Balrog asking him if the legendary vikings Ragnar Lothbrok or Bjorn Ironsides would be making an appearance in the game due to the title being set within a Norse environment. Barlog apologizes to say that he does not see them appearing since the next installment in the series apparently occurs “well before” the beginning of the Viking Age.

Although Vikings are not included in the plot, Balrog assured gaming fans that "God of War" will feature elements from Norse Mythology as Santa Monica Studio have been exploring the lore of Scandinavia prior to the Viking Age, with game director stating that the development team’s mindset for the game's creation is rooted in “a prehistory point," where gods did walk the Earth, when monsters were real, before they became extinct, Gamerant reported.

In other news, it seems that Santa Monica Studios could tease new gameplay details for "God of War" PS4 on June.

This points to the game's "father and son "poster in Europe as father's day will be in June 18 and they might preparing for more game details for this year's Electronic Entertainment Expo event.

Sony showing "God of War" at E3 2017 is a safe bet for gamers, but what they would like to know is the release plans for the sequel, if ever they will announce it.

E3 2017 will run from June 13 to June 16 and Sony is one of the company’s appearing this year. "God of War," "Uncharted: The Lost Legacy," and new unannounced projects will be shown during its press conference, SegmentNext reported.

Santa Monica Studios also teased that multiplayer gameplay will return in "God of War" PS4 as the studio posted job listings for a Senior Multiplayer Programmer. Employees for the job must have valued talent, self-motivation, and team spirit. In turn, the studio will provide an environment with a large degree of freedom and autonomy.

The new "God of War" will launch sometime in 2017 or in 2018 for the PS4.
