In Microsoft's recent quarterly results, the company's CFO Amy Hood noted that the sales of the Surface device is down. The device's revenue decreased 51 percent, in the past quarter, and the company had no material Phone revenue.

Microsoft raked in billions, but the fact is that the 26 percent drop in Surface sales is hard to neglect. Some suggest that this might be a sign that customers are losing interest in the Surface Phone, and it will struggle if the device is released anytime soon.

Additionally, Microsoft has reportedly failed to acknowledge the demands of the customers. The Windows Mobile OS still need to improve to level with iOS and Android, which dominate the industry. Also, one of the flaws of the Windows store is that it does not offer mainstream and non-mainstream apps compared to iOS and Android.

However, some people believe that Surface Phone will come within this year. The sales of Surface devices has declined because Microsoft has not renewed its flagships for a long time. Although the Surface Book and Pro 4 performed well, both devices were ruled by others with more updated features and specs.

Microsoft also needs to launch seamless integration between all of its devices through OS. In this way, Surface Book or Pro owners will prefer Windows 10 mobile to easily access works and documents, rather than using other smartphones.
