Tesla Inc. (TSLA) will unveil its highly-anticipated Model 3 car in July. This is according to a tweet sent out by its CEO, Elon Musk yesterday. The announcement will provide Tesla customers with a first look at its technical details, pricing, as well as features. The Model 3 is priced at $35,000 and around 400,000 people have already signed up for pre-order, prompting Tesla to set ambitious production goals.

Later this year, Tesla will start the production of the Model 3, which the company says will begin around $35,000 and including a 215-mile electric range. According to a source, It'll be Tesla's entry-level vehicle and one of a handful of "affordable" long-range electric cars along with the Chevy Bolt.
According to Tesla, they are planning to produce 500,000 cars yearly by 2018 and reach one million by 2020. To date, Tesla has only been able to produce 76,000 vehicles since last year. However, given that the Model 3 is actually easier to produce than any of their higher-end models. Reports claim that it shouldn't be too difficult for Tesla to achieve this objective.

Tesla wrote in a blog post late last week that "While Model 3 will be our newest car, it isn't "Version 3" or the next generation Tesla. Our higher priced premium models still include the most advanced technology and the best driving experience we have to offer."

Furthermore, Elon Musk laid out his vision for some of Tesla's less-expected vehicles. Interestingly, the electric semi truck is set to unveil in September, which going on the Tesla Model 3's timescale, meaning it might start shipping to owners in a few years. Musk also mentioned the upcoming projects, Tesla pick-up, which is a few years away, and also the next-gen Roadster, which will be convertible.
