Apple iOS 10.3.2 release may be accompanied by a good news for consumers still using 32-bit devices like iPhone 5 and iPhone 5C. The initial report confirms that support will continue for the said Apple devices.

Apple might have just a change of heart concerning the termination of support for their older devices. It has been previously reported that iPhone 5, iPhone 5C, 4th generation iPad will lose software support with the release of the latest iOS 10.3 update.

The idea of the termination of support came from a list released by the company, which was then interpreted by some users as a foreshadowing of what may come. Once discontinued, users of old Apple devices will likely be more vulnerable to bugs and other security threat.

However, an extension might be given for the said users of such variants. Forbes reported that Apple iOS 10.3.2 release might continue to support users of 32-bit devices.

In view of the given update, over 90 million users of the iPhone 5 will enjoy software support for the mean time. This said move distinguishes Apple from other manufacturers and brand, which some of them only promises two years of Android support.

However, although there would be an impending extension for the software support, the upcoming iOS 11 does not guarantee a similar outcome, according to Mac Observer. There have been reports that iOS may likely focus on 64-bit support once released in September.

As of the current writing, there is still no confirmation coming from the company concerning their plans for the 32-bit devices once the iOS 11 will be released. It is expected that more details will be given this coming June when Apple will give a preview of the iOS at the annual Worldwide Developer Conference.

Regardless of the outcome, users will have to decide ahead on whether to stick with the old unit or move for an upgrade. Sooner or later Apple will have to terminate support for the said devices, similar to what they have done with previous models.
