Microsoft has provided support for Windows Vista over the past 10 years, but the time has come for us to invest our resources in more recent technologies. Users of Windows Vista would no longer receive security updates, non-security hotfixes, free items, paid assisted support options or online technical content updates from Microsoft starting April 11, 2017.

According to a Microsoft blogpost, if someone continues to use Windows Vista even as support has ended, their computer will still work. However, it would be exposed to security risks and viruses. Also, Internet Explorer 9 is no longer supported, so if a Windows Vista PC user is connected to the Internet and uses the Internet Explorer 9 to surf the web, he/she might be exposing his/her PC to additional threats.

Users are also likely to encounter more apps and devices that will no longer work with Windows Vista. This is because more software developers and hardware manufacturers will opt for more recent versions of Windows.

According to MobieSyrup, information has emerged about the upcoming Microsoft’s Spring event hinting that we would not see a new Surface hardware. Instead, Microsoft will spend the significant time of the event talking regarding a new product called as the Windows 10 Cloud.

Microsoft is said to have started sending press invites for the event this week. While we may see Microsoft Corporation unveil a low-cost Windows 10 Cloud device, we would probably not see the tech giant show off a new 2-in-1 Surface Book 2. Instead, Microsoft will likely to unveil a Surface Pro 5 that would not feature USB-C charging and will stick with the company’s Surface Port.
