The prices of Google Nexus 5X and 6P have been officially slashed by $80 and $50, respectively.

Google had introduced LG Nexus 5X and Huawei Nexus 6P smartphones in October 2015. Both the smartphones are now available with a discount of $80 over their launch price, 9 to 5 Google reported.

Initially, the Nexus 5X costs $379 for 16 GB storage version and $429 for 32 GB storage edition. At the start of this month, Google introduced a price cut of $30 on both models and now it is offering an additional discount of $50.

Hence, the prices of the 16 GB and 32 GB models have been brought down to $299 and $349, respectively. The Nexus 5X can be purchased with discounted rates through Google Store, Amazon, Best Buy and B&H Photo.

On the other hand, the cost of the Google Nexus 6P has been discounted by $50. At launch, the 32 GB, 64 GB and 128 GB storage models of the Nexus 6P costs $499, $549, and $649, respectively. The new price cut has slashed the price to $449, $499 and $599, respectively.

When the Google Nexus 6 was launched in 2015, it was available in only in three colors like aluminum, graphite and frost. At the beginning of 2016, gold matte color variant was launched. All the four color variants are available with $50 saving.

The new price cut introduced by Google is not a permanent one but it is expected to end on Feb. 14, The Verge reported. Customers who purchase the Nexus 6P will be able to buy the Huawei Watch with a discount of $50. To take advantage of the deal, users can either visit the Google Store or Best Buy.

The Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P are the first smartphones to feature Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS. The LG Nexus 5X was launched as a successor for the original Nexus 5 from LG that came out in 2013. The LG Nexus 5X is a midrange smartphone whereas the Nexus 6P comes with flagship specs.

The Huawei Nexus 6P was introduced to replace the Motorola Nexus 6 that was released in 2014. The Nexus 6 was criticized for its 5.96-inch display. Hence, the Nexus 6P features a slightly smaller screen of 5.7 inches. It is also the first Nexus smartphone to arrive with a complete metal uni-body design.
