Imminent Release Date for Surface Book 2 with Lower Starting Price as Microsoft Begins Mass Production?

Fresh information suggest that the launch of Microsoft Surface Book 2 may not happen in this spring.

Few days ago, there were rumors that Microsoft had begun the production of Surface Book 2 and it was expected to get unveiled at the spring event in this month or next month. However, newer information seems to contradict the spring launch for Surface Book 2.

Even the Surface Book 2 is not arriving soon, speculations suggest that the Redmond giant would be still keeping a launch event this spring. Will it be unveiling the Surface Pro 5 2-in-1 device? There is no concrete evidence on whether it will be unveiled at the upcoming launch event, ZDNet reported.

There are speculations that the company would be only showcasing the Windows 10 Creators Update at the forthcoming unveil show. In October 2016, Microsoft had confirmed that the Creators Update which is the next major update for Windows 10 users would be available for free to the users.

The update would mainly come with support for content creation and capability to share easily. It will predominately focus on 3D and VR content, GSM Arena reported.

The Surface Book 2 is rumored to ditch 2-in-1 design and it is expected to sport a traditional laptop appearance along with an innovative hinge. It means its users will not be able to detach and reach its screen to use it as a tablet as well as a laptop. The probable reason why Microsoft wants to launch the Surface Book 2 as a traditional laptop is that it wants to distinguish it from the Surface Pro series.

The Surface Book 2 is expected to come with a starting price of $1,000. It is rumored to be cheaper than the original Surface Book as reports suggest that its high pricing resulted in low demand.
