New updates for "NieR: Automata" will feature an unofficial patch fix and DLCs for the game not happening due to lack of budget.

It seems that "NieR: Automata" will not likely have more DLC plans after its launch this year as lead writer and game director Yoko Taro stated during the PAX East 2017 event that DLCs for the game might not happen due to lack of manpower and budget, Twinfinite reported.

Taro also clarified some issues regarding the censorship's within "NieR: Automata's" storyline as he explained that one change change came from a name to avoid a copyright infringement, while the second case will address idioms and sayings that do not translate well from Japanese to English or other languages.

Meanwhile, an unofficial patch update for "NieR: Automata" in the PC was able to improve the frame-rate of the game.

Several PC users have noticed the unusual changes within "NieR: Automata" in the PC platform and identified these problems.

First of these is "NieR: Automata" in the PC seems to have a bug that prevents it from rendering at the correct screen resolution. For instance, if players set the resolution in-game to 1080p, it will render gameplay at 900p and stretch it to 1080p. Some had better luck running it in windowed mode, but it was never clear what was causing this.

The second issue was typical of some PC ports, but equally perplexing here. Basically, the game's performance, though capped at 60fps, was erratic on PCs with hardware well beyond the recommended settings. Lowering the settings would have a minimal impact, too, which is never good.

In order to fix these issues, PC modder Kaldaien created a very small installer that fixes these errors. His mod can be found in the Steam forums and it is easy to use, but requires users to switch their game to the Testing Branch, which they can do under ‘Beta’ from the game’s "Properties."

The installer allows "Nier: Automata" to render at the correct resolution. As to how it improved the graphics performance, this can be attributed to giving users control over the Global Illumination setting, a previously hidden option identified as the cause for the performance hit.

PC users can adjust the value of Global Illumination and more by pressing Ctrl + Shift + Backspace. Setting it to 16, its lowest value, resulted in up to 60 percent performance increase for many, and doubles that on mobile GPUs.

Modder DrDaxxyalso created several codes that brings the setting to the same value. PC users can get the code from Steam and use it in a DLL, VG 24/7 reported.

"NieR: Automata" is now available on the PS4 and PC platform.
