'Injustice 2' Rumors: New Game Modes Teased Online; Cheetah Gameplay Trailer Streamed [VIDEO]

The latest updates for "Injustice 2" will feature Cheetah in a new gameplay trailer and two new game modes coming soon.

Warner Bros. Games and NetherRealm Studios streamed another character gameplay trailer as DC villain Cheetah takes on Wonder Woman, Robin and Deadshot. Cheetah was first teased in the "Here Comes The Girls" trailer, which also featured Black Canary, Catwoman and Poison Ivy.

The Cheetah trailer also featured new environmental moves where in opponents are put through the Batwing and come crushing down on a stage area and using a tusk from a stuffed elephant as a weapon, Gematsu reported.

Cheetah in "Injustice 2's" storyline will be joining Gorilla Grodd's organization called the Society alongside other DC villains like Deadshot, Captain Cold, Catwoman and Bane. With Superman and Batman are at each other's throats yet again, it seems that Grodd will take his opportunity to dispuse both parties and take over the world as its new master, unaware of another big threat on planet earth.

In other news , "Injustice 2" might introduce two new game modes that will make the sequel more interesting than its predecessor.

"Mortal Kombat" creator and game producer Ed Boon stated that "Injustice 2" will have a Tournament mode that will disable the equipment of each DC character, as several players are worried that the Gear System will be a disadvantage to gamers who are new to the game.

There are also rumors that NetherRealm Studios may add a Tag-team mode for "Injustice 2" and it will be similar to the 2009 "Mortal Kombat" game, EventHubs reported.

Previous reports revealed a new currency is called the Source Crystal, which players can buy using real money and it can be spent on three different ways: Premiere Skins, shaders for existing skins and on the Transform Gear feature.

NetherRealm Studios noted that players cannot pay to win in "Injustice 2" during its community announcement. Although the studio stated that using Source Crystals is optional as it will not impact progression.

One particular way players can use them them is billed as allowing them to “save time.” If they rank up at least one character to level 20, they can use Source Crystals to level up other characters to the same level.

"Injustice 2" will launch on May 16 for the PS4 and Xbox One.
