Asus tablet is constantly evolving despite the decreasing demand for such device. A testament to this is the upcoming mysterious 9.6-inch tablet spotted on benchmarking service GFXBench.

There has been a considerable decrease in demand for a tablet nowadays with the introduction of hybrid devices in the market. Asus together with Samsung are some the few remaining manufacturers in the tech-industry. Asus on their part has been reported to be prepping a new quad-core Android tablet, following the recent release of their LTE-capable version of the ZenPad 3S 10.

Initial reports of the said tablet included a dodeca-core listing of the device. However, such list was incorrect, for instead of a 12-core processor, the tablet is simply a quad-core device as mentioned by Phone Arena. As with its mobile processor speed, it has been assumed that its chipset will come with a clock-speed of 2.1GHz.

Moreover, it has been reported that upcoming Asus tablet will be equipped with the latest Android Nougat OS together with Imagination Technologies PowerVR Rogue GX6250 GPU, according to Digital Trends. It will also sport a 64GB of storage, and 4GB of RAM for a performance boost.

Other features of the device also include a decent 7MP rear-facing camera and a 4.7MP front-facing camera. Thus, suggesting a better image capturing as compared to its predecessors. Furthermore, the highly cited 9.6-inch display will come with a 2048 x 1536 resolution.

Since the current details revealed for the new Asus tablet is yet to be confirmed, it is to be expected that specifications of the device may change prior to its release. Similar to its specs, the price of the device still lacks confirmation.

However, as most rumors would suggest, its value would be somewhere in the $300 to $400 price point. Given the projected price range, it could pose as a potential rival to Apple's iPad Air 2 at $399. That is if its actual specs and performance will be equal or beyond the Apple device.
