The Google Pixel XL is one of the hottest Android phones on the market right now but the upcoming LG G6 is a serious competition. LG has announced its newest flagship handset, the LG G6, at the MWC 2017 last Feb. 26 and it is ready to take the tech world by storm. How does it fare against the Google Pixel XL?

The LG G6 comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 821, 32 GB of storage, 4 GB of RAM and microSD support of up to 2 TB. It is also dust and water resistant with an IP68 rating, just like the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge.

The G6 measures at 5.7 inches with a 1,440 x 2,880 resolution and 564 ppi. While it is a crisper display than the Galaxy S7 Edge, the latter comes with Super AMOLED technology and curved edges.

The Galaxy S7 Edge features a Gorilla Glass 4 display while the G6 only has Gorilla Glass 3. The G6 will also come with a non-removable, 3,300 mAh battery and run Android 7.0 Nougat. The G6 comes with a dual-camera setup of two 13 MP rear cameras and a 5 MP front snapper while the Galaxy S7 Edge only has a 12 MP rear camera and a 5 MP front shooter.

Meanwhile, the Google Pixel XL is the bigger variant of the new "Made by Google" phone line. HTC manufactured the phones but Google says that it developed the phone from design to its final finishes.

The Pixel XL comes with a glass and aluminum build which looks like the HTC A9. It features a 5.5-inch AMOLED screen with 2,560 x 1,440 pixels resolution. It also comes with Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box which will render amazing results on the powerful phone, no less.

The Pixel XL is capable of split-screen windows and a battery-saving Doze mode. The phone is compatible with the Daydream View VR headset and a 3,450 mAh battery source. It is also dust and water-resistant but will still be damaged when submerged in water. The Pixel XL is available in two color variants: silver and black and comes with 32 GB of in-built storage.

While the Google Pixel and Pixel XL have fast charging support, they do not support wireless charging. It also only comes with IP53 ratings. It means that the phones cannot survive any water submersion. Most flagship phones are now dust and water resistant and the Pixels just do not bode well with this area. According to reports, other cons include its single SIM and non-removable battery features. The Pixel handsets also have only one speaker and it may appear like an injustice to a high-end phone.

The Google Pixel and Pixel XL cameras have electronic image stabilization (EIS) and not OIS. The Google Pixel houses a 12 MP rear camera with an f/2.0 aperture and an 8 MP selfie snapper with f/2.4 aperture.

Google is targeting photographers with the new Pixel phones and to replace the Apple iPhone camera which is currently the most used snapper on image hosting website Flickr.
