"Middle-earth: Shadow of War" is the sequel to the 2014 open-world action adventure game, "Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor".

The latest details for "Middle-earth: Shadow of War" will feature a possible multiplayer mode and save file from "Shadow of Mordor" can be transferred in the sequel.

Monolith Productions creative vice president Michael de Plater teased that gamers who have a save file from "Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor" can transfer them to its sequel, "Middle-earth: Shadow of War".

Although Plater is somewhat careful of what he was saying at the time, since he is unsure if he is allowed to say anything regarding the feature. But, he did not "deny" the speculation, even went to check with a representative before giving any answer at all.

Either way, it appears the development team is waiting to reveal the news in full detail, perhaps in major gaming events like E3, or they are still considering it before "Middle-earth: Shadow of War" launches later this year, VG 24/7 reported.

Meanwhile, it seems that "Middle-earth: Shadow of War" will likely have in-game app or "microtransaction" due to player hinting it on the Steam page.

Unfortunately, the "Middle-earth: Shadow of War‘s" Steam page has not elaborate on what it means for the in-app purchases, but it seems likely that the “war chest” items included in the game’s special editions could possibly its microtransaction.

Although, the sequel is known to be a single-player game, microtransaction are found in multiplayer games, which could hint that "Middle-earth: Shadow of War" could have multiplayer features.

Others speculated that the microtransaction could likely tied to "Middle-earth: Shadow of War's" single-player campaign, Gamerant reported.

The first trailer of "Middle-earth: Shadow of War" featured the return of the fallen Gondor ranger Talion and his his Elven companion Celebrimbor, as they continue their campaign that ended from "Shadow of Mordor" to fight behind enemy lines in an attempt to turn Mordor against the Dark Lord Sauron.

The sequel also revealed that Celebrimdor was captured by the enemy after he and Talion forge a ring of power to battle Sauron and his forces.

"Middle-earth: Shadow of War" is set to launch on Aug. 22 the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC platforms.
