Samsung has officially released Android 7.0 Nougat update for Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge as users of these smartphones in European nations have confirmed receiving the firmware.

Through the official Twitter account of Samsung UK, the company had recently confirmed that it has delayed the Nougat update for Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge as it was reviewing the quality of the update. The company did not confirm when the update would be available, but reports coming from various European nations like Germany, Italy and Switzerland have confirmed that the update has finally arrive to Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge users, Sam Mobile reported.

As of this writing, there is no confirmation on whether the update is available outside of Europe. Anyway, Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge users in other countries are also expected to receive the update soon. The unlocked versions of Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge are expected to receive the update first. It may take some time for carriers to release the firmware update to its users.

A Vodafone user from the U.K. who has received the update for his Galaxy S6 Edge has revealed that the version of the firmware is G925FXXU5EQBG. The size of the update is 1.3 GB and it carries various enhancements through Samsun Experience interface.

The update also brings along Samsung Cloud, a cloud storage service that provides up to 15 GB storage space for free. It automatically synchronizes all important data such as contacts, messages, calendar and notes on the cloud. It also includes the Android security patch for the month of February, the publication reported.

The Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge users in the U.S. as well as global users have received or in the process of receiving the update. Now, the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 Edge+ are the only major smartphones that are yet to receive the update. A Samsung Turkey website page that has been taken down had revealed that both smartphones will be getting the update in this month.
