Microsoft will not release the first-person shooter game "Halo 6" for this year. The company will also not release "Gears of War" and will, instead, concentrate on other games.

Xbox boss Phil Spencer confirmed this in an interview with IGN for their Unlocked podcast. He also said that 2017 would be an "interesting" year because the focus will be on Microsoft's other games.

Spencer stated that 2017 would be an interesting year for the studio as they will skip the release of "Halo 6" and "Gears of War." According to Gamespot, Spencer said that he takes a lot of pride with this year's Xbox lineup of games, minus the two franchises.

Some remarkable games published by Microsoft that are coming this year include "Sea of Thieves," "State of Decay 2," and "Crackdown 3."

Spencer also discussed Project Scorpio, particularly the quality of its graphics. He said that when players see the games on Scorpio, particularly those who are keen on details, they will notice a vivid difference between it and the games that they are playing on any console.

When Project Scorpio is launched, it will be very different from the traditional console. It is going to be a mid-gen hardware update instead of a full-gen jump, from Xbox 360 to Xbox One, for example.

Players will be pleased to know that all games and accessories for Xbox One will also work on Project Scorpio. But this time, developers will use the "beefed up horsepower" of the new console to deliver quality games.

Finally, although Microsoft will not release "Halo 6" game this year, it doesn't mean they will not do it in the future. In fact, the next title in the series will once again feature a split-screen multiplayer mode.

The Verge reported that corporate vice president at Microsoft Studios and head of 343 Studios, Bonnie Ross, confirmed at the DICE summit that the future release will "always have split-screen going forward. So, perhaps players may get an all new "Halo 6" title next year, running on Project Scorpio.
